while studying on the plans for the 1945 invasion of Japan -- i ran acrosssomething that might be use full to you-- at the end of the war some B-17, B24 were fitted with all the avaible radars to help with C &C as well spotting --some what like the air craft you used in Impasse-- they were to be used in the invasion | |

There was also an Arado 234 (or version of it) awacs proposal. | |

*Contains spoilers* Proposals are an issue, as I suspect Allied thinking would go with tried and tested stuff. The 234 would have production issues for sure, where as the B17/B24 platform is widely available and capable of being produced in numbers. My thoughts are now on need, as the Red Air Force is totally crippled. | |
