I'm about 2/3 through the opening book, and no Patton?  I checked and he didn't die in the alternate universe till December 1945.  Unless I missed mention he is totally absent to date.  What's up with that?

Now much depends on where you are in the series. He is not in #1, receives a chapter in either #2 or #3. although crops up in SHAEF groups from time to time. In #4 he is to the fore. I left him out of the limelight deliberately to start with, waiting until the initiative switched to permit his offensive nature to flourish, whilst permitting others to have some prominent time in the early books.

[Spoiler] You may  notice that I moved Montgomery from a prominent position to one with no part whatsoever. I decided against doing so with George, although had I followed  history I could have removed him in 1945 by recording his death. He wil have his time, but in a large venture like RG, there simply isnt room for everyone in every book.

Understood!  reading the material leaves the impression a lot of time has passed, it hasn't.  I wasn't sure if that was a minor quiz for me to be smart enough to know he died (he didn't  until December).  On the other hand, I'm really not sure with the end of the war he was in the doghouse again.  Something in addition to be a remarkable military leader he was also exceptionally good at.  Please understand what I am about to say is intended as a sincere compliment, "I haven't enjoyed Military Fiction as much as the first time I read the Hunt for Red October.
