With an impotent Red Fleet, Allied shipbuilding requirements would be curtailed. The US was building approximately 800 (liberty & victory) ships per year as an average. If half of this was made available to other uses, that would equate to an extra 4 million Tonnes of steel. If 20% was used for armoured vehicles, this would equal an additional 16000 M26/M46 per year. Is this kind of extra production capacity going to be factored in. In the UK there would be an equivalent of 2000 tanks per year. There would also be knock on benefits to aircraft and transport production in increased availability in raw materials & skilled labour. What's your take on this?

Supply by sea is still important, particularly as refugees come under allied control. The flow of arms and ammo is also important. I see production meeting most requirements of the new campaign. The issue would be trained personnel.
