141000 plus words now, as i seem to have been ultra productive last night! the reviews are starting to creep in and the book is still bringing in 5*'s across the board. 'Stalemate' should be on track, provided I can complete the review process quickly, and the book manufacturer has just added an online review system which should help that a lot.

Site Owner Posts: 916 | 145000 words now and still the creative juices flow. Book sales on amazon.com now lie at 105 for May alone, without advertising and relying on word of mouth alone. I would say that is fantastic, and much more than I was expecting at this stage. That being said, sales on amazon.co.uk are nil, which I find equally strange. I have noted some of the feedback on amazon, particularly one which suggests including the civilian side, and I think the point has merit. i may not have room in book#2 but I will factor something in for book#3 methinks. American tax forms are damned compliacted by the way!!! Stay frosty :-)

161394 words at the start of writing this evening. I have a sneaky suspicion that I may not make the deadline. Better it is just right than rushed methinks!

Lots of things have changed since I last posted here. Stalemate is well over 200k words and approaching the triple climax. I have taken up a graciou soffer to edit the books, which should help with some of the niggling little issues. There has been some questioning of the military detail but I have decided to stick with it as it appeals to many and only annoys a few thus far. I am looking to do a two week research trip round Germany, Poland and Austria to polish up some aspects of Impasse and End Game. Have a nice day

Stalemate now exceeds 260000 words and continues to grow. i must think long and hard about making it into two volumes, or removing some of it into the third in the series, namely 'Impasse.' facebook carries daily updates, and is my preferred point of access at the moment. Check FB out, red gambit group, join up and contribute as much as you like.

Ok, this is a big one. I have finished writing ‘Stalemate’, or what was to be called ‘Stalemate’. The work was just under 300000 words and over 1020 pages, without all the illustrations. Regardless, it had to be reduced, so rather than remove sections, it seems best to split it in to two parts. These will be called ‘Breakthrough’ and ‘Stalemate’, each of approximately 145000-155000 words and, once the map work is done, and glossary, I suspect will sit at around 500 pages each. That is well below ‘Opening Moves’, but I see no alternative, as one book would be just huge. I have taken onboard the criticism of those who have scored the book on Amazon, and I have to agree with the points on editing. Therefore my self-imposed time limit of September will go out of the window, in order for me to get it as right as I can. My editor, Loren, is presently uncontactable, and I do hope he is well. Therefore, I will be doing it myself, unless my exchange with the publishing company chap throws new light on matters. Please bear with me folks. I will do things as fast as I can from this point, and hope to have both out before Christmas, the first before the end of October if all goes well. I am about to commence the first read through, which may result in removal of some pieces, or more writing if I see a hole. I will keep you all updated, and will send a group email once the first of the book is released.

Hi there. Apologies for the absence but you will be aware that i have been around Europe for the research on books 4 and 5 [3 and 4 that were!] Editing of book 2 goes well, although I have had a small setback, it was overcome quickly. All efforts are now directed to producing this as quickly as possible. Bear with me folks!

Book#2, now called 'breakthrough', should be here within the week, cover graphics permitting. Book#3 is already written, and will come in under the original name of 'stalemate'. That will probably appear just before or after xmas. Work will then begin on book#4, with a view to getting it out there before the end of 2013.

happy new year to you all. I confess that I am finding it hard going at the moment. Tiredness plays its part, as do the festivities, but it seems so long since I have written anything, all my time spent on editing and redoing stuff that didnt make the grade. I know the anticipation for 'Stalemate' is growing, but i also hope you will understand that I have to get it right first time. The criticims of OM must be avoided. On that note, I will also be re-editing OM, with the help of some friends. Given that sales of the first book have picked up dramatically, I think i need to get it justright, in order to keep readers for the series. I hope 2013 is all you wish for. be good.

Stalemate is nearly with us. there have been unforeseen difficulties, from my pc exploding, to two fatal continuity errors, to name but two. None the less, I shall be putting it out there shortly :-) I have put two extra graphics in the Stalemate section today, and will continue to add more over the next few days.

Its been a while since an update, so here goes. The Stalemate I referred to above became a beast of huge proportions. When I reached the the date goal and event goals I had set, it consisted of 330,000 plus words. To put that into perspective, OM was 245,000 words, which translated into nearly 800 pages in a large paperback! So, I split Stalemate in two, calling the first part 'Breakthrough'. I daresay some of you have read it already :-) The second part, called Stalemate of course, is now complete, edited, reviewed, and being paginated as I write. The rear graphic is the only thing I am waiting for, and then the book will hit kindle and createspace within hours. The future is mapped out. I intend to take a short break from writing, to check the threads are all in place and tied together where appropriate, and I also intend to draw up a schematic of the rest of Red Gambit, as keeping it in my head is proving difficult now. I also intend to review Opening Moves, and bring it up to standard, possibly rewrite a couple of bits as well [not sure on that yet]. Anyway, thanks to everyone that has bought into Red Gambit, and I hope you continue to enjoy.
