I have posted a challenge on the FB site.

Create a character of any nationality, complete with a mini-bio and submit it to me on the FB page.

my challenge will be to seamlessly include the best characters in 'Impasse' and maybe beyond.

Is it too late to enter this? I've concocted a chap that might fit in well...

No payment required whatsoever. You are no 63 on the site and thats my lucky number so you may suggest a unit to get mentioned or even deeply involved. Hit me with it and I will let you know if its possible.

Somehow I knew you were cavalry lol No problems. I have plans for the 6th Armoured Division so expect to see the 16/5L & 17/21L soon. Ive just written a section concerning the 78th Division, a unit closely concerned with the 26th Armoured Brigade of which your bunch were part. I hope it will be good for you once finished :-)

You may recognise the roots of the french-canadian tank crew story in Breakthrough. I heard the rough story once, many years ago, from a chap who served in BAOR. SUbstitute Sherman for Chieftain.

Looking forward to that, I actually attended a warsaw pact exercise once, as an observor, well driver too an observer, and bimbled about Germany for many years pretending to fight WP

I tried to do it justice and describe for the reader the horror of it. I believe that i managed to do a reasonable job, as some feedback I have received gives me the impression that the political boundaires of it all disappeared and it was just a piece on man's fraility and humanity, regardless of the uniform. I hope it wasnt too much of a memory jerker for you.

No, sadly this was not an isolated incident, a stupid one but not isolated, the ways men go, through ways of staying safe is quite suprising, i thought you actually handled that episode quite well.

Not at all. Give it a go. Bare bones please, so I can hang suitable meat upon the structure lol No guarantees of a central role or similar of course, but some 'reader' characters have played and comtinue to play serious roles in the series. I shall look forward to your effort:)

I have a question. Is it possible to have a female partisan from the Estonian Forest Brothers? I don't know if the Baltics are geographically out of the zone so to speak for Red Gambit. If so I can concentrate on East Central Europe instead. Just curious.
